FAQ

Big White Freestyle Club

What is included in your program?

All Big White Freestyle winter programs include coaching from highly certified freestyle coaches. Athletes meet Saturday or Sunday mornings at 9:00am at the bottom of the Snow Ghost chair behind the Ridge Rocket Lodge. Athletes will be dismissed from training for lunch from 11:30 – 12:30pm in the village. Parents are expected to pick-up/return athletes 12 years old and under on time. Training starts again at 12:30 at the bottom of the Ridge and days finish in the village at 3:00pm. Additional breaks are at the coaches’ discretion.

What does a skier/boarder need to have?

Skiers and boarders MUST have their own ski/board pass, skis/snowboards, poles, boots, goggles, gloves and be dressed for changing weather. Proper fitting ski/board helmets are MANDATORY. Back protectors, wrist guards (snowboarders), and mouth guards are encouraged. Athletes must also bring a brown bag lunch.

Do you ever cancel sessions?

We try to run every scheduled session. Cancellations may occur due to inclement weather, coach illness, or injury. We will notify everyone by email as soon as possible.

Can I do half-days?

Yes! Our introductory FUNdamentalz and Riders Green programs are half-day. You will be notified of the time slot after registration. Full fees apply even if athletes cannot attend all sessions.

Is there a Code of Conduct or Club Manual?

Yes. Both athletes and parents must review and sign the Big White Freestyle Code of Conduct. The Club Manual and Bylaws are available upon request.

What about injuries or on-mountain safety?

Safety is a top priority. All athletes must wear a helmet. Coaches emphasize skiing/boarding within limits and paying attention to conditions. Accident reports are completed as required.

What if we are late or can’t make it?

Contact your coach via TeamSnap or check in with the Program Director. Please notify your coach if your athlete cannot attend.

How do fees and refunds work?

Full fees are due prior to the season start. We offer pro-rated credits for club-cancelled days. Athlete cancellations due to injury receive monthly prorated credit (minus $250 admin fee). No credits after February 1st.

Are there any deals available to club athletes?

Yes. Registered athletes receive partner and sponsor specials communicated by email.

Is there a lunch program option?

No. Teams are dismissed for lunch from 12:00 – 1:00pm. Parents are responsible for pick-up and return as per our Duty of Care policy.
